I feel it's working well, and the idea of relieving is unique and important for user engagement.

I'm interested in what kind of direction you'll take this in. I think the changing of projects inside each masking is really cool - it makes me want to keep opening and closing all of them. I think the ability to move these shape around will be really successful. Creating your own compositions as a user is fun and I think will attract people to keep coming back.

It's interesting when things overlap. I wonder if having some kind of transparency within the masks to play with the interaction of the shapes would be a beneficial thing.

I wonder what kind of ways you can categorize the work in a faster viewing way - to have it clear to the user what is what right off the back.

I'm curious to see how motion and web projects play in the masks. I'm guessing you'll have screen shots of them, but I think having multiple masked out motion pieces overlapping could be sweet.Josh Lamberthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16624557072848643428noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8544502312505738848.post-41654578332342456442009-12-04T08:24:27.441-08:002009-12-04T08:24:27.441-08:00overall usability of the site:
this site is really...overall usability of the site:
this site is really usable, the portions of it all function well, and there is a unique aspect of discovery.

the degree to which it pushes boundaries / questions traditional presentation of portfolio work:
I really like this presentation of portfolio work. I think it does a push the boundaries it offers an interactive experience and unfolding, it's almost like each project is opened like a gift.

same as above but for overall site navigation:
navigation was the same as the portfolio presentation so the same applies. :)

if the site utilizes linear / cinematic elements (such as transitions, image sequences, etc) and the success of those linear elements:
The non-linear presentation of work is successful, but I wonder if there is a way to more logically or more fluidly guide the user through the work. So maybe there are different levels that can be accessed so there is a discovery mode, and then there are other more direct modes of content access. You are still opening up these images, but maybe there are different ways to organize them.

overall organization of the work -- logical? interesting?
that is my only problem, is that the work doesn't seem to have a clear organization, but I don't necessarily view that as a problem, especially if the above comments are considered in a later iterations.Ian Tironehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05826895928701574220noreply@blogger.com
